The first bits of progress from the visual design aspects of our game this first week came in the form of character and environment conception.
With a focus on the simple yet whimsical appeal to this game, we are drawing inspiration from low poly/stylized assets and cartoon like proportions to create a bright and personal aesthetic.
Moving forward we will be using these 'visual instructions' to focus the intent of art direction, making cohesive, and adaptable art that fits into this wholesome styles about.

When creating our new logo, we wanted to balance between sleek and readable versus something endearing to younger audiences. What we ended up with was the use of Maneki's original concept art with a large focus on texture overlay and a bold font.
